What Is Keto/Ketogenic Diet?
Usually, our body uses carbohydrate as the main energy source. The body uses this energy while our day to day activities.
If we didn’t use all the energy we take-in while we eat, our body will automatically store that energy for future use. It is simple, let’s clear it by an example. Bears are usually sleeping in the whole winter without eating. But how? because they eat as much as they can before the winter to survive while they sleep. Because they know they must eat to survive while the winter. It is very difficult to find food while the winter. They know that. Therefore they always get ready for the winter by eating extra food and store them to survive in the winter.
Simply our body is like this bear. It always thinks about survive. Therefore our body is always getting ready for future difficulties. When we eat more than the body required, it automatically saves extra energy as fat for future uses. But when we eat like that every day our body wouldn’t get a chance to burn the stored fat as energy. The body is storing energy instead of using it. Yeah, now you got it this is how you got fat. You ate more than your daily calorie limit and your body didn’t get a chance to use those calories as energy. So your body stores this energy for the future. The only way to store this energy is fat. This fat is commonly stored in the body areas of belly, butt, thighs, arms, back and breast area and this extra fat cause to appear double chine on your face.
How Does Keto Diet Work?
The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used fundamentally to treat difficult-to-control epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. In Keto diet, we eat foods with carbohydrate less than 20g per day. You are allowed to eat foods with fat and protein instead of eating foods with carb. You are allowed to take,
- 70-80% fat from total daily calories
- 5-10% carbohydrate
- and 10-20% protein
For a 2000-calorie diet.
You are allowed to eat your Keto meal anytime at the day. Also, you are allowed to eat any amount of meals in the day. BUT, remember you must stick with your daily calorie limit. Otherwise, you won’t be able to get results out of the diet.
